Groomkit Founder — Active Barbershop Operator
SKILL GETS YOU CLIENTS. SYSTEMS KEEP THEM.

THEY TEACH YOU TO CUT. NOBODY TEACHES YOU TO RUN THE BUSINESS.

Most barbers learn one skill set: how to cut hair well. Almost none learn the second one — the one that actually decides whether the shop survives past year one. Pricing without losing money. Hiring people who show up and perform, not just people who "vibe." Contracts that protect you instead of exposing you. A marketing plan that fills the calendar without burning a weekend on content you'll never reuse.

I've watched talented barbers open beautiful shops and close them twelve months later — not because their work was bad, but because nobody ever taught them to think like an owner instead of a craftsman. Groomkit exists to fix that gap.

Built By Someone Who Runs The Business Side, Not Just Talks About It

Before Groomkit, I spent over a decade in brand and marketing leadership — building a fitness brand from scratch into a market leader in its category, then running marketing strategy and campaigns for national beauty, lifestyle, and entertainment brands. Along the way I picked up a law degree, which turned out to matter more than I expected once I started writing compliant contracts for a living.

Today I run the day-to-day operations of a barbershop — the budgeting, the hiring, the legal paperwork, the client retention, all of it. In the first year alone: costs down over 8%, average ticket up 40%, monthly client volume more than doubled. Not because of luck, but because of systems — the same systems most independent barbers never get access to.

Groomkit is what came out of building those systems for myself first, then realizing every barber I talked to needed the exact same thing.

Our Mission

We exist to turn skilled barbers into confident business owners — giving them the pricing logic, hiring frameworks, legal documents, and marketing tools that turn a chair into a real, defensible business, not just a side hustle that depends on luck.

Why "Kit"

A kit isn't a course. It's not another video telling you to "believe in your brand." It's the actual toolbox — templates, scripts, calculators, and documents — ready to use the same day you download it.

Right now, that means practical, affordable tools: client communication scripts, pricing calculators, marketing templates, legal documents built for the barbering industry specifically. Down the line, the plan is to build full Kits around specific goals — a Kit for solo barbers focused purely on client acquisition, a Kit for shop owners focused on hiring and team systems, and more. The toolbox grows; the principle stays the same — real operational tools, not motivational fluff.

Built On What Actually Works

Everything in the Groomkit catalog gets tested against one question: would this actually move the needle in a real shop? Not "does it look good in a course preview" — does it solve the problem a barber is dealing with this week. That's the only standard that matters here.
